Muscles are one of those things that most of us take completely for granted, but they are incredibly important for two key reasons:
  • Muscles are the "engine" that your body uses to propel itself. Although they work differently than a car engine or an electric motor, muscles do the same thing -- they turn energy into motion.
  • It would be impossible for you to do anything without your muscles. Absolutely everything that you conceive of with your brain is expressed as muscular motion. The only ways for you to express an idea are with the muscles of your larynx, mouth and tongue (spoken words), with the muscles of your fingers (written words or "talking with your hands") or with the skeletal muscles (body language, dancing, running, building or fighting, to name a few).
Because muscles are so crucial to any animal, they are incredibly sophisticated. They are efficient at turning fuel into motion, they are long-lasting, they are self-healing and they are able to grow stronger with practice. They do everything from allowing you to walk to keeping your blood flowing!
When most people think of "muscles," they think about the muscles that we can see. For example, most of us know about the biceps muscles in our arms. But there are three unique kinds of muscle in any mammal's body:
  • Skeletal muscle is the type of muscle that we can see and feel. When a body builder works out to increase muscle mass, skeletal muscle is what is being exercised. Skeletal muscles attach to the skeleton and come in pairs -- one muscle to move the bone in one direction and another to move it back the other way. These muscles usually contract voluntarily, meaning that you think about contracting them and your nervous system tells them to do so. They can do a short, single contraction (twitch) or a long, sustained contraction (tetanus).
  • Smooth muscle is found in your digestive system, blood vessels, bladder, airways and, in a female, the uterus. Smooth muscle has the ability to stretch and maintain tension for long periods of time. It contracts involuntarily, meaning that you do not have to think about contracting it because your nervous system controls it automatically. For example, your stomach and intestines do their muscular thing all day long, and, for the most part, you never know what's going on in there.
  • Cardiac muscle is found only in your heart, and its big features areendurance and consistency. It can stretch in a limited way, like smooth muscle, and contract with the force of a skeletal muscle. It is a twitch muscle only and contracts involuntarily.
In this article, we will look at the different types of muscles in your body and the amazing technology that allows them to work so well.  From here on, we will focus on skeletal muscle. The basic molecular processes are the same in all three types.

Medical school is expensive. Even two year certification programs can cost a pretty penny. So where do high school students and returning adult students turn when money is needed to fund college education? Why programs geared towards giving college students financial aid, of course. Below are four places you can find financial aid for medical school.

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) [fafsaonline.com] website is the first place every college-bound student should visit.
According to the FAFSA website, “Submitting this vital financial aid application form determines your eligibility for federal financial aid as well as scholarships, grants, and other aid opportunities.”

Basically, you fill out the online form and the program does its calculations. A staff member looks over the form and calculations, then gets back to you with several funding options. If your income is low enough and your financial need great enough, you’ll receive offers for pell grants and scholarships as well as student loans. If your income is too high, you’ll only be shown offers for student loans. To learn more about how to properly fill out the FAFSA online form as well as lower your income to meet grant and scholarship requirements, visit the Free FAFSA Secrets Guide. (fafsaonline.com/s1-reduce-income.php)

The second place to locate money for medical school is through scholarship programs. Scholarships usually do not have to be paid back and are based on merit, not financial need. While students have a better chance of receiving funding through local scholarships, state and nationwide scholarships also offer chances to pay for college education. When looking for scholarships, check out the Student Scholarship Search website (studentscholarshipsearch.com).

The third place to locate money for medical school is through student loans. Student loans work just like every other loan, you borrow a specific amount of money, agree to pay a set interest rate and late fee, and make payments to pay back the money you borrowed. By requesting a “student loan” versus a traditional loan, students can often prolong making payments until 6 months to 1 year after they graduate from college. To learn more about student loans, visit the Financial Aid Officer (financialaidofficer.com).

The least likely place to look for money for medical school is through work-study programs, but they’re often a better option than student loans. According to the Student Guide (studentaid.ed.gov/students/publications/student_guide/2004_2005/english/types-fed-workstudy.htm), work-study programs “provides jobs for undergraduate and graduate students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses.”

Established by an Act of Congress in 1965 and begun in 1966, the Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP) is a partnership program between the federal government and private lenders and an umbrella program which includes Stafford loans, student PLUS loans and Perkins loans. Since it started more than half a trillion dollars have been disbursed through this program.
Funds for the program are provided by a network of independent banks, credit unions and other financial institutions and lenders are generally happy to make money available in what would normally be considered a high risk area of lending because loans are to a large degree (although not totally) underwritten by the federal government. In about five percent of cases private guarantors do become involved with defaulted loans and are able to make application to the federal government for at least partial reimbursement.
The vast majority of funds are used for subsidized and unsubsidized Stafford loans. In the case of subsidized loans the federal government pays the interest on loans while students are attending full-time courses (and for up to six months after graduation), while in the case of unsubsidized loans students are responsible for paying the interest due on their loans. Interest is not however normally paid on unsubsidized loans while a student is attending full-time education (and again for up to six months after graduation) but is added to the loan.
The other program with attracts major funding is the student PLUS loans program which is designed to allow parents to take out loans on behalf of their children. This program was extended in 2006 and is now also available to professional and graduate students. The student PLUS loans program is becoming an increasingly important part of college funding these days.
Applications to the Federal Family Education Loan Program are normally made using a Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) application form which is submitted to the loans officer at the college for which the student has been accepted. Applications are then examined and loans granted on the basis of the information provided and the availability of funds for disbursement.
Loans are normally disbursed at least twice each year (depending upon the academic timetable followed by the college) and it is common for the bulk of each loan to be paid directly to the college to cover tuition and other fees, with the balance then being paid over to the student or parent, less fees.
In most, but certainly not all cases, a fee of about 4% is payable which is made up of a 3% administration, or ‘originating’, fee and a 1% insurance fee. It is not uncommon however for higher fees to be charged and so it is important to ask about the fee structure and, if necessary, to shop around when applying for student loans.

One hour payday loans have been introduced to provide you with faster financial assistance. These loans provide you with immediate cash when you need it for solving your expenses of daily life. These loans can be availed online with the speed of light. You just need to look into the internet finding the lenders. An online application form is required to be filled by you. Within a day of the application, money is wired into your bank account.

For availing these one hour payday loans, you need to fulfill some eligibility criterion. The conditions need to be fulfilled are mentioned below:

You need to be at least 18 years of age
You need to gainfully employed with minimum earning of 1000 dollars/month
You need to be a permanent citizen of US
You need to have a valid bank account for the purpose of transactions with the lender After fulfilling all the above mentioned requirements, you would stand eligible for availing these loans. An amount ranging between 100 dollars and 1500 dollars can be borrowed using these loans. Usually, you need to payback the amount within a week or month or on your next payday. If you fail to pay back the amount within on the prescribed time, then you would be liable to pay fine for that. This fine is charged in the form of extra interest. The lenders would automatically withdraw the amount from your account.

As these loans provide you with very fast financial assistance, you are charged a bit higher interest for this service. So, you are charged more for the convenience and ease provided to you. We suggest you to borrow the money only for the necessary purposes because of the high cost of these loans.
You must avail these loans if you need immediate cash and are having no option to get money in hands.

When it comes to getting a college education, many students already know that they’ll have to pay a very expensive price. Even though tuition keeps rising and rising, it seems as though students have no other choice than to take out student loans in order to pay for college and get that degree in order to provide financially and materially for their families.
Student loans are not a bad idea if one does intend to repay them, graduate from a college or university with a decent degree they can use, and successfully enter the working field in a career that will satisfy them and their goals. On the other hand, too often individuals decide to not only cut college, but they also decide to default on their student loans, which is not a good idea for anyone.
If you or someone you know, though, is going to attempt college for the first time in their life, then one of the best things to check out would be about student loans and everything that a person needs to know about them. It is actually fairly easy to obtain student loans, governmental or private, but the process of getting approved and obtaining them can be a little daunting.
Filling Out the FAFSA: The FAFSA form, which is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, is the basic form that students entering any type of college or university should fill out in order to be eligible for financial aid and student loans that can be received from the government. While some of this government financial aid does include student grants, most of the financial help that is received by students comes in the form of student loans, such as the Perkins Loan or the Stafford Loan.
When the FAFSA Doesn’t Cut It: Of course, there are plenty of other resources that one can look towards in order to obtain student loans. Private student lenders are usually always on the horizon whenever a student either has trouble obtaining federal student aid or simply attends an expensive college that requires more money than the federal government is able to give. These private student loan lenders are great assets to students if used in the right way.
One major benefit of using them is the fact that college students don’t have to enter the repayment period for the loan until they are completely graduated from college with their career degree they intend to pursue. Of course, paying the interest on a private student loan is always an option for students, but it is something that is usually not required while the student is in school.
When obtaining student loans through a private source, there are several requirements of the student that needs to be met. First, the student usually should have good credit when applying. Even though this criterion has loosened up among private student loan lenders in recent years, it still would be a good idea to maintain a good credit report and history if one is to apply. Otherwise, a college student who is applying for a private student loan should be able to have a co-signer if he or she doesn’t meet the credit requirements. Another criterion that is usually required of students is their ability to maintain a job while in school.
Student loans are definitely one of the main sources of money that many people use to pay for college in today’s world. Unless and until colleges and universities are made more affordable and the price of tuition lowers, the amount of both federal and private student loans will definitely be on the rise.

Many international students wonder what the best course is to choose if they are interested in staying on permanently after they finish. We have compiled a list of our top 5 tips in making the choice:
1. Study Something You are Genuinely Interested In
Many students are tempted to study a course only because it improves their chances of qualifying for permanent residence. This is in general not a good idea for the following reasons:Study in Australia is expensive – you might as well study something which is going to be useful to you in your future career It’s very difficult to pass a course you have no interest in You obtain extra points if you work in your occupation after completion of your course
To get the full benefit of study in Australia, you will need to complete a course or courses which are registered for at least 92 weeks on CRICOS. If you are studying a one-year course, you may consider studying a second year to complete the 2 years of study, but the courses must be closely related to your occupation
3. Closely Related Studies
There are a couple of issues to consider in looking at closely related studies:
The subject matter needs to be relevant to your occupation; and The level of the qualifications needs to be appropriate to your occupation
In terms of subject matter, the Department of Immigration is relatively flexible when it comes to generic business and IT courses – for example if you are studying a trade such as hairdressing, it may be possible for you to count business studies on the basis that the business studies will be useful to you in starting a business as a hairdresser.
In terms of the level of the qualification, you can run into trouble if your qualifications are at a very different level – for example, if you do a certificate qualification in hairdressing, then do a Masters in IT, the Department of Immigration may not accept that a Masters level qualification in IT will be useful to you in your career as a hairdresser.
4. Right Qualification Level
Only the following qualifications can be counted towards the 2 year study requirement:
Degrees: this includes Bachelor degrees, Graduate Diplomas, Masters and PhDs Diplomas: generally this would be a 2-year qualification Trade certificates: Certificate III or higher in a trade occupation (Group 4 in ASCO)
Completion of the following qualifications would not in themselves suffice for the 2 year study requirement:
Graduate Certificates (In general, these are 6-month courses and are equivalent to half a graduate diploma) Associate Degrees (2 year qualifications leading towards a degree) Certificates I and II in trade occupations (eg Certificate II in Hairdressing) Certificates I, II, III and IV in non-trade occupations (eg Certificate IV in Business)
However, if you have completed lower qualifications on the way to completing a qualification which can be counted, the period of study at the lower level might be counted towards the 2 year study requirement. For example, if you have completed a Certificate IV in Business and this gave credits towards completion of a Diploma in Business, then it may be possible to count the time taken to compete the Certificate IV towards the 2 year study requirement.
5. Masters or Honours Years
If you are completing a bachelor degree in Australia, then you may consider completing an honours year or masters qualification after you finish. This could give you 10 additional points, but you need to be aware of the following:
The total period of study in Australia needs to be at least 3 years The masters or honours year needs to be at least 12 months If your degree is awarded at the honours level (eg law, engineering), this can also give you the 10 points The honours needs to be at the 2nd Class, First Division level or higher All qualifications need to be closely related

Sunburn is caused due to overexposure of body parts to the harmful ultraviolet rays, which leads to inflammation of the skin. Sunburn can also be accompanied by certain other problems like nausea, blisters, peeling of skin, dizziness and sensitivity to light. The body must be protected from sunburn, and ideal way is to face as less exposure to sunlight as possible, and one should avoid going outside between 10 am to 3 pm as this is the duration of intense UV rays.
The home remedies for sunburn are not only helpful in treating the sunburn, but also in avoiding it to quite an extent. The best way to protect oneself from sunburn is intake of lot of fluids in order to prevent dehydration, and also replace the loss of water due to sunburn. In order to avoid the brunt of sunburn, one should eat high-content protein foods and raw fruits to fulfill the appropriate need of body for vitamins and minerals. Coconut oil and sandalwood oil are very effective in healing the burnt skin due to their cooling properties. Application of coconut or neem oil on the body, before and after taking bath is considered as a useful remedy for sunburn.
An effective home remedy for sunburn is to apply the paste of four tablespoon of buttermilk and two tablespoon of tomato juice for half an hour, and then wash it off. Similarly, paste of turmeric, barley and yoghurt in equal proportions also gives immense relief when applied on the sunburn area. Intake of juice of raw mango along with salt and sugar is very effective in combating sunburn, and is highly recommended at least thrice a day.

There are certain very easy to follow home remedies, which if followed on regular basis prevents the occurrence of sunburn to quite an extent. Suppose you are going out during the day time when UV rays are on peak, you must wear sunglasses and clothes should be light in colour and weight. Whenever you out, do not forget to apply sunscreen of 15 SPF or higher, and be specific that the sunscreens you use are protective against UVA and UVB rays. And if at all you are affected with sunburn, do not apply any cream or jelly on the affected area as they trap heat and affect the skin further. In fact the area affected with sunburn heals faster when exposed to air. Prevention is better than cure, so one should be vigilant about these small facts to avoid severe problems later.
Good home remedies for sunburn are:
• If you suffer from sunburns apply plain yogurt on the red effected skin.
• Deep a cotton wool in cold whole milk and apply on the burnt skin.
• Make a cup of tea and add ice cubs to cool the tea. When cold enough apply the tea on the skin with cotton pads.
• After your skin is burnt from the sun you should apply apple cider vinegar on the skin.
• Slice an onion and apply the liquid on the burnt skin.
• Put ice cubes in a cloth and tap the skin softly.
• Smear aloe vera on the skin to relief the burning sensation.
• Slice a cucumber and rub on the burnt skin.
• Make a lukewarm bath, add oatmeal and get in for a few minutes to relax the skin.

Sunburn is a burn to the skin produced by overexposure to the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun. The symptoms of sunburn are: Red skin that is painful and hot to touch, mild dizziness and tiredness. The skin damage is often permanent and can have serious long-term health effects, including skin cancer. Sunburn can be life-threatening and is a leading cause of cancer. A similar burn can be produced by overexposure to other sources of UV such as tanning lamps.Sunburn can be prevented by using: sunscreen, clothing and by limiting exposure especially during the middle of the day.

The main cause of sunburn is overexposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation, generally from the sun’s rays. Sometimes it may occur from other UV light such as tanning salons. It is associated with some microscopic change in the skin. Sunburn may occur to anyone who goes for fishing, swimming in the sunlight or visit a beach. Consumption of birth control pills, antibacterial agents used in soaps and shampoo, outdoor activities like swimming, skiing and hiking are the causes for sunburn.
Sunburn causes premature wrinkling and greater risk of cancer but home remedies can provide pain relief for mild cases at home. Summer sunshine and playing outdoors go together but if we don’t follow certain guidelines, we can pay the price with painful sunburn. The pain of sunburn may last up to a week but will be worst between six and forty-eight hours of sun exposure.
Apple cider vinegar – Vinegar is a great way to soothe your sunburn if you can get over smelling like vinegar. (If you can’t, use regular vinegar and add a bit of lavender essential oil or lemon juice) Dab some vinegar on a cotton ball and gently glide the cotton ball over the sunburned skin. Vinegar is considered to be the most effective natural means of relieving a sunburn (even though aloe gets all the glory). Another way to use vinegar to soothe the burn is to pour about sixteen ounces into a luke warm bath and soak for twenty minutes.
Apply aloe vera or vinegar on the affected skin; it will stop inflammation and pain. Avoid products made from benzocaine, lidocaine and petroleum jelly. Rub mustard oil on the affected skin and allow to it dry, this will take out the heat from the skin. Cut fresh cucumber slices and rub them on the affected area. Before taking bath, add some baking powder to the bath water, this will help to soothe the burnt skin. Apply lavender oil or peppermint oil on the burnt skin.
Cornstarch:
Make a paste of cornstarch and water, apply to skin and allow to dry. Fill a spray bottle with cool water and add some cornstarch, mix to dissolve. Spray on burn. Fill a bath with cool water and add 1 cup cornstarch, dissolve. Soak in tub for 30 minutes. Soak in tub or shower with cool water. Pat dry. Lightly dust burn area with cornstarch.1/2 cup cornstarch + 1/2 cup baking soda added to bath of cool water, dissolve. Soak for 30 minutes.

One medicine in many forms – tablets, gel, and oral suspension – that’s Zithromax for you.  The generic Azithromycin, the medicinal compound in Zithromax, has a wide-ranging effect and can be used effectively against various infections that result from bacterial action in the nasal passage, respiratory, gastrointestinal and genito-urinary tracts, skin and soft tissue, otitis media [an infection of the middle ear], typhoid in the early stages, or nosocomially-acquired infections.
Generic Azithromycin, an antibiotic medicine, belongs to the Erythromycin group of drugs.  Azithromycin is an azalide, having a similar mechanism to Erythromycin [a macrolide], but with improved functions to cover a wide gamut of bacterial infections that may occur in the nasal passages or throat [sinusitis, pharyngitis, or tonsillitis], lungs and airways [bronchitis, or pneumonia], skin and soft tissue infections, middle ear infection [otitis media], genito-urinary tract [uncomplicated urethritis, or cervicitis as in N.gornnorhoeae, or cervical and rectal chlamydia], and in the treatment of mild to moderate typhoid.  Its action is bacteriostatic rather than bactericidal – it does not kill the bacteria directly, but inhibits the protein synthesis to take place in the bacteria, that ultimately causes them to perish.  The remaining bacteria are killed by the body’s refurbished immune system.
In the last few years, it has proved to be an effective medicine for preventing bacterial infections in babies and in those who have weak immune systems.  The medicine is readily absorbed.  The drug is often used alongwith another antibiotics to treat mycobacterium avium complex – MAC – an “opportunistic infection” in HIV-ridden people.  It is also used in the treatment of patients who have mild to moderate typhoid.  Azithromycin is administered to those who develop a urinary tract infection or pneumonia following a surgery – a nosocomially acquired infection in the hospital, due to infection caused by inadequate hygienic measures or equipment in the hospital.

It helps to treat women, and men who have chlamydia, a common sexually-transmitted disease [caused by a tiny bacteria, the chlamydia trachomatis], considered to be a common preventable factor for causing infertility in women.  If not treated, chlamydia can cause inflammation of the pelvis, and damage the Fallopian tubes that transport ovarian eggs to the womb.  Such women can also conceive, but run the risk of having an ectopic pregnancy – when the fetus develops in the Fallopian tubes instead of the womb, that can make split the tubes, making it a life-threatening situation.  Perihepatitis, a liver disease, causing symptoms of pain, nausea, anorexia and abdominal palpation, due to chlamydia, may at times, occur in women.
In men, if chlamydia is left untreated, it impacts the sperm function and male fertility.  It can lead to, though not so commonly, to reactive arthritis in men.  In the latter condition, previously called Reiter syndrome, it affects the joints [wrists, knees, ankles, feet], eyes, gastrointestinal or genito-urinary tract, bringing stiffness, inflammation and pain.  It’s a systemic rheumatic disease that can cause inflammation in other organs, and tissues around the mouth, kidneys, heart, lungs, spine, as well as the skin.
Zithromax is one of the few antibiotics found to be effective in treating chlamydia – just a single dose for 7-10 days if detected at the onset.  Sometimes chlamydia occurs without any symptoms.  The risk of untreated pregnant women having an STD passing on the infection to their unborn babies is always present.  Its occurrence is found in adolescents as well.  Prompt treatment can save all such affected people from further health problems.  Since this is a sexually-transmitted disease, its necessary to get the partner treated also, otherwise the treated person can get re-infected.
Zithromax [Generic] is an acid-stable medication that can be taken an hour or two before or after food, but considered to be more effective when taken on an empty stomach.  The oral suspension can be taken regardless of food.  Take the medicine as advised by your physician. Antibiotics generally lead to a ‘good’ feeling soon after the therapy starts, but its important to finish the course, as leaving it mid-way will make the infection to return, and no antibiotic treatment may be able to help then.  When given to children, the liquid dose should be measured with the special measuring spoon meant for such medicines, so that the right amount is given.
When you approach your physician, the doctor will want to know your medical history, especially if you have a liver disease, cystic fibrosis, bacteremia, irregular heartbeats, HIV, have a nosocomially acquired disease [acquired in a hospital after a surgery, such as UTI or pneumonia], or if you do not have a spleen.  Zithromax [Azithromycin] interacts with a large number of drugs, and you must give details of all the medicines [OTC, prescription] as well as the nutritional supplements and herbal products you may be taking, so that your physician can decide what medicines you can continue to take and work out the correct dose regimen for you.  This medicine is contraindicated if you are taking other antibiotics like Erythromycin, Clarithromycin or Dirithromycin, or medicines like Mizolastine, Pimozide or Reboxetine.  Inform the treating doctor if you have any specific allergy, or if you are allergic to Zithromax.
Azithromycin is not given to infants who are below 6 months in age, while only the suspension dose is recommended for children who weigh below 45kg.  The medicine is not recommended for the geriatric population.  Patients who want to take the Oral Typhoid vaccine must wait for at least 3 days after finishing a course of Zithromax, because combined usage with this medicine, will make the vaccine less effective.  Zithromax is said to enhance the anti-blood-clotting effects of Warfarin and other anti-coagulants, so the doctor will want to monitor the blood clotting time of such patients, and also monitor the blood levels of patients who are taking Digoxin or Ciclosporin alongwith a course of Azithromycin.  It is recommended that this medicine should be taken 1 hour before or 2 hours after taking any antacid.
Pregnant or lactating women, besides those who are planning a pregnancy, must inform the physician about their condition before taking the medicine; while those taking Oral Birth Control pills may not be given Azithromycin, as this is liable to negate the effect of the Birth Control pills and can cause an unwanted pregnancy.
Side-effects of this medicine are minor, and few; these include: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or abdominal pain.  If these worsen or persist, or any other unusual symptoms occur such as a rash, itching, inflamed vagina, dizziness, convulsions, thrush infections, palpitation, anxiety, anemia, changes in hearing or taste sensation, or a ‘pins and needles’ sensation, then you must discontinue the medicine immediately and contact your doctor, seeking emergency help if necessary.
Store the medicine at a room temperature of 15oC-30oC, away from moisture, heat and light; the suspension may be kept in the fridge, but not in the freezer.  Keep this medicine out of reach of children and pets, discarding unused medicine after 10 days.  Never share your medicine with anyone.
Buy Zithromax Online , the medicine to help you get over sinusitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, otitis media, urethritis, chlamydia with its concomitant ailments. Generic Azithromycin, available at Online Pharmacy in a discounted price.
