The group consists of four members namely Aston Merrygold, Jonathan “JB” Gill, Marvin Humes and Ortise Williams. After joining the X Factor show, the group has already sold over 1.3 million copies of their album worldwide. But why were they called the JLS group or the Jack the Lad Swing?
Actually, the band’s first group was called as the “UFO” or the Unique Famous Outrageous” band. However, when they joined the reality show, they decided to change the group’s name to JLS due to some legal rights. Jack the Lad Swings was derived from the famous tag “Jack the Lad”, which refers to a guy who is a known womanizer or a lady’s man. They however, added the word “Swing” at the end in order to make it sound more like a music group and also sound groovy.
